Why DIY?

It’s really funny how the days of this year flew by, to be honest it just seems like yesterday when I saw fireworks through my window on New Years.
Anyways the point being every day I wake up eat and sleep and pretty much I’m being a couch potato with nothing educational nothing inspiring and nothing interesting to do. I reasoned with myself that sometimes sitting simply and doing nothing is just plain boring. What I needed was to keep my brain and hands busy.

I’m a huge Pinterest addict as you guys know. So lately I have been receiving multiple project ideas and layouts I want to try out. In my earlier post I talked you through how to decorate your room, especially if you are a beginner. This time I decided there are a few newbie’s out there and other fanatics like me who could live life through DIY.

Admit it! Few things are as satisfying as emerging paint-splattered from the garage or damp with sweat from the garden after a hard day’s work. But beyond helping you save money, DIY projects offer you real, hands-on ways to empower your dreams. According to me DIY-ing is a great way to boost your brain power, improvise your skills and gain knowledge. Whether understanding techniques online or discovering how a broken machine ticks, each venture you embark upon will teach you something new and improve your problem-solving abilities for going after your dreams.

The happiest and healthiest people keep their minds and bodies active and DIY activities are a perfect way to do both. Working with your hands is an easy, natural way to get your heart rate up—and who doesn’t love that empowering feeling of creating something on your own? When I create a piece unique in its own self, something that brings out my personality, it makes me happy. It’s satisfying.

When I DIY I have a newfound confidence. Amid life’s uncertainties, I tend to rely less on products, services and help from others. Instead I find immense pleasure in dwelling from the freedom I obtain through the new skills and confidence DIY-ing has cultivated in me, a quality that spreads through all areas in life.

Have you ever attempted a DIY project? How did it make you feel?
