Have an empty bare wall in your room, no matter what you try its still looking plain?.
Let me help you with that, with these quick and easy steps you can make your room look very Pinterest-y and Tumblr worthy.
Now I know many people all over the globe have done this one. But that didn't stop me from trying either.
All you need are:
Pictures cut down to 3"x 3"or 4"x 4" - I would suggest using your instagram pictures it would be more interesting and if your doing using your instagram then go on to " printsgram" an online photoshop app which gives great quality picture prints. OR you could just tumblr and pinterest and google your favorite images and use picmonkey like me and make polaroid sized pictures.
Scissors and Scotch double sided tape/Glue- Basically supplies you guys :)
also, I used a long white chart cause I didn't want any of my paint to come off
And any type of tape you would want to stick onto the back of the chart.
I have been thinking for a long time now what to do with this plain wall in my room and I never got any ideas.
I was youtubing ( Yes, that is a word.) the other day and I came across a video by Brooklyn and Bailey who made this same collage but in a different way ( The difference being they didn't use that chart and they used more pictures than me, approx. 55; whereas I used 48)
I will put the link to their video here, do go check them out they have great videos and collabs with other favorite youtubers of mine.
This is basically self -explanatory. But here goes for nothing...
First take out the pictures you will need and cut them down to the right size, like I did here.
Then lay out your chart onto some flat surface, I sat on my bed while doing this since it was more comfortable, feel free to use your table or the floor.
Measure out your chart and divide your lengths ( you don't actually need to do it, but I did it anyways just to know my center point. After I found my focal point on the chart I started arranging my photos of choice in a heart shape pattern . The goal here is to arrange your pictures (in such a way that in the end it will look like a mine craft heart pattern) in a straight line starting from the bottom. I used 48 pictures which were of 3" x 3".
So I stuck one picture in the middle and one at the end and arranged my pictures in the middle such that there was almost 4-5 inches left at the top of the chart. All in all I had almost 8 pictures as the middle line.
Then I went ahead and arranged pictures from the second last line, So I put two on either side; such that there were now three pictures on the second last row. I kept eyeballing the number of pictures I wanted to make a heart shape. ( Check the video link for a visual idea). So from the bottom there was one picture, three picture, five pictures, 5 rows of 7 pictures each.
The fifth row on top which contains 7 pictures has the first picture of the straight line ( the middle line is the one I'm indicating here) and on top of the 5th row I added two pictures of the left and two on the right.
You will understand it once you try, after arranging the pictures it looked somewhat like this.
As you can see here I was just trying the placement ^. And the picture below is how it is supposed to look once you follow the steps above.
After arranging all my pictures I went ahead and changed the position of a few pictures according to my liking. And glued them down. I prefer gluing them down so that it wont come off easily.
This is how it looked :
A few changes here and there as you can see :D and since this process was so tedious, I went ahead and heard music.
Do check out Pentatonix, they are awesome.
Then I went ahead and cut out the shape of the heart leaving a little white edge around the corners to give it a more cleaner finish.
This is how it looked. :P
Then I went ahead and used " Masking Tape"? You can use any double sided tape. I rolled this normal tape backwards so it would become double sided. Its a really good tape so I used this. And used it where ever i thought on the chart was necessary.
And stuck it on the wall where I liked it. Now my plain wall looks great :")
Be sure to give this a try and let me know in the comments below how it went and also for any diy projects you would like me to try :*
